ARTS EDUCATOR & LEADER

 

In 2016, Matt was selected as a Cultural Policy Fellow for the City of West Hollywood. Sponsored by Arts for LA's ACTIVATE Arts Leadership Program,  Matt worked with the City's Arts Division to develop and implement a Cultural Arts Plan that, as of 2020, will serve the community for the next two to six years. Specifically, Matt aimed to address the urgent needs of artists in WeHo, advocating for cultural equity through the development of a multifunctional and collaborative rehearsal, studio, and performance space within the City's boundaries. He engaged and consulted with City arts officials, planners, and community members alike in the greater effort to establish this vital resource in West Hollywood. Matt envisions, and will continue to serve as an advocate for, an arts center that will serve the spectrum of creative expression in The Creative City.
